How to Use the Filter Features in Deployer:
When deploying the source data (from any given ECM), you can filter your source content so that only relevant items will be affected by the current deployment operation. Tzunami Deployer’s filtering capabilities enable you to selectively decide which items will appear in the source system, and which items will alternatively be filtered out (and therefore remain un-deployed).
The filter can be used in the following cases:
- Tzunami Deployer enables the user to filter content that will be added to the root folder.
- Users can also set a filter on hierarchy of items or sub folders.
- Tzunami Deployer allows multiple filters at different levels of the hierarchy. There can be only one filter per property.
When you apply a filter to a folder, the filter is automatically applied to all sub-folders. You can set a different filter for a sub-folder or disable filtering for it altogether by editing the sub-folder’s filter settings.
To filter the source store list:
1. Right-click a source folder you wish to filter and select Filter. The Edit Filter window appears.
2. Select a property from the list of Properties.
3. In the Condition area, select one of the following conditions from the drop-down list and enter a value in the corresponding field(s):
- Equals to
- Different than
- Greater than
- Smaller than
- Doesn’t match
- Empty Value
- Non Empty Value
4. Click Add Condition. The condition is added to the Filter area, displaying the full filter expression. Note: You can only add one condition per property
You can edit a condition for a property by selecting the property and modifying the condition type or it’s currently assigned values and clicking Add Condition.
You can remove a condition from a property or all the conditions from all the properties by clicking Clear Condition or Clear All, respectively.
5. Click Import/Export Button. Export button can be pressed to dump added filter condition as an XML file. Likewise, Import button can be pressed to import the saved filter conditions accordingly.
6. Click OK.
The filter is applied to the source hierarchy and the icon at the filtered location, including all its sub-folders, includes a filter overlay (), as well as an additional counter specifying the number of files and items that passed the conditions of the applied filter(s).

Tzunami Deployer supports the rapid creation of Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007/2010/2013 and SharePoint Online. Our migration solution easily transfers data from older Enterprise Content Management Systems, and automates the entire process of migrating unstructured content. Expediting your SharePoint Migration can be achieved with proper preparation. When preparing a SharePoint Migration Project for Deployment, we recommend following these steps:
1. Open one of the Tzunami Deployer Projects which you have already created:
This saves you time wasted on repeatedly creating a new project, connecting to the source, and connecting to the target.
2. Load the source data into that project:
Load the structure and then reload the desired content within it.
3. Reload the target destination site/sub-site/list:
If there are many documents in a target list, it might be unneccessary to load all of the existing documents when reloading a particular list. However, choosing not to load this, could prevent Tzunami Deployer from identifying duplicate file names. The document versions in the target environment do NOT need to be loaded
4. Work on multiple projects in parallel:
You can run up to 3 instances of Deployer on one front end server (assuming 4GB RAM, 2 GHz Xeon processor server configuration). Keep in mind, you can install Tzunami Deployer on multiple machines to further expedite your SharePoint migration.

Bellevue, WA — 08/20/2013 — New Tzunami URL Redirector Add-on gives users uninterrupted access to their content throughout the Migration Process
Tzunami, the leading provider of advanced SharePoint migration solutions, today announced the updated release of Tzunami URL Redirector Add-On Tool. This Add-on tool is the first of its kind in the field of Migration to SharePoint 2013, SharePoint 2010, SharePoint 2007 and SharePoint Online.
As SharePoint continues to thrive among many of the world’s largest organizations in providing a secure and reliable content management platform, an increasing number of organizations are seeking to transfer the content from their old legacy content management platform to the most updated version of SharePoint. One of the largest challenges faced by organizations migrating from other ECMs is the inability to automatically redirect the URLs from the legacy system. This causes unnecessary manual work for users, who are forced to spend time searching for their content in the newly migrated SharePoint environment. Tzunami’s URL Redirector Add-in tool was developed specifically for this purpose. Tzunami’s URL Re-director scans the reports of the migrated content and fixes the links from outdated legacy systems. Users who access their files from the legacy system are notified about whether or not their content has been migrated, and they are simultaneously provided with the newly created URL in SharePoint. The old links are redirected to a designated SharePoint URL, allowing end-users to access content from their old systems.
The URL Redirector also solves the problem of internal linkage between files, preventing the loss of important data during the migration process.
“Often times, organizations will have files which contain links to other files. These internal links have a tendency to be broken when moved to a new SharePoint environment. As a result, users find themselves manually searching for files and fixing the broken links, inevitably draining on business productivity,” says Roy Ladelsky, Tzunami’s VP of Sales.
“With the automated technology of the URL Redirector Add-On tool, these links within files are corrected automatically.”
The URL Redirector is an add-on tool to be used in conjunction with Tzunami Deployer SharePoint Migration Solutions. The Add-on fixes links to provide users with uninterrupted access to their content throughout the SharePoint migration, while simultaneously fixing internal linkage issues.
As the pioneers in the field of content migration, Tzunami has a strong track record of providing SharePoint Migration Solutions to global enterprises. With a typical SharePoint migration, it’s easy to migrate sites and lists to the Quick Launch in the target SharePoint environment. Users simply check the “Display list on the Quick Launch” option using the Tzunami Deployer Wizard.
Now for the tricky question:
“What about subsites? Can we migrate those to Quick Launch too?”
The answer is YES. With Tzunami Deployer, this is an option. While performing deployment, users can choose whether to show the subsites in the quick launch, or inherit the quick launch settings from the parent or not.
Please note, in order to have these options, users must have chosen to read the navigation information from the source when loading the source content. Also, users must verify that the the flag UpdateSiteQuickLaunch in the advanced settings is set to TRUE.
Tzunami Deployer allows you to customize the hierarchy of your target SharePoint environment as much as needed – allowing users to retain the old “look and feel” from the source, or get creative with the target SharePoint environment.
SharePoint Migration: Why a Roadmap is essential for your Enterprise
Enterprises are dynamic. While the dynamic nature of business is imperative to the very success of an organization, it can also add major difficulty for the implementation of new and existing technologies. As suggested in Why you Need a Roadmap when Planning for SharePoint 2013, these difficulties can be significantly lessened with proper planning. Namely; a roadmap for SharePoint 2013 adoption.
“Our ICC SharePoint Roadmap offering is a planning and implementation process solution that allows our customers to map their business goals to a phased technical implementation plan,” says Hartsel. “This process ensures prioritized business goals are the primary drivers in developing an implementation plan of technical solutions across the lifetime of the SharePoint environment.”

SharePoint Migration – Assimilation is Just a Few Steps Away
As the tech world continues to expand with new innovations, some find themselves impressed with the surplus of technological advancement, while others are entirely overwhelmed. The latter might second-guess these inventions because they are uncertain that they will be able to change old habits to correlate with the ever-improving technology, or because they believe they have too many platforms containing all of their information: emails, spreadsheets, presentations, the works…To these uncertainties, we say, “ta-ta,” because we have an answer for you: SharePoint. Microsoft SharePoint entails everything one needs to maintain their work and keep up with the work of others.
“Why SharePoint? Because it’s the new way to work together,” states the Microsoft team. Through SharePoint, all of your platforms can be combined into one, making your life much easier. One device, many platforms, endless possibilities for sharing, organizing, and learning within an organization.
Now, if you’re wondering how you can move all of your files from older platforms to some version of SharePoint, we have another answer for you: Tzunami Deployer. Tzunami’s migration tools are user-friendly, guaranteed to lower costs, and increase returns on investment.
SharePoint is the future for enterprises of all sizes, and Tzunami is happy to help those enterprises become more comfortable with the continuously improving technologies. You can check out our migration tools here, or watch our free demos for content migration here.
The future is now, and with Tzunami’s help, assimilation is just a few steps away.
We’re back from Houston, and still revved up about this year’s Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference. The sessions and speakers were of such great quality this year, we feel we can’t miss the opportunity to share some of the content with you. The most memorable for us was the session on Tuesday titled, “Accelerate your customers to Office 365.” This session was co-hosted by Microsoft’s Steve Luper and Molly McCarthy.
They offered tons of advice on expediting the process of moving U.S. customers through the pipeline and onto the cloud with Microsoft Office 365. As noted in the presentation, many businesses are slow to adopt Office 365, despite their initial investment. Often times, organizations will invest in a costly deployment without even considering a proper migration strategy.
“It’s hard to get going. They see the value, they hear you talk about Office 365 and get convinced and say ‘let’s do it’ and then it might take weeks or months until they get that first mailbox live. You lose the momentum and you don’t have that internal user evangelist,” stated Luper.
This delayed adoption is no news for us at Tzunami. That’s why we’re so focused on providing a swift and efficient migration to SharePoint Online. We want to provide users with access to all of their content on SharePoint Online immediately, to speed up the implementation of Office 365 and provide businesses with a thorough deployment and migration to Office 365.
Luper and McCarthy also suggested several other tools and programs to help avoid the common “sold but not deployed” problem that Office 365 users often confront.
Here’s a list of some of their suggestions for Microsoft Partners:
- Fast Track – Offers deployment resources for Office 365
- MEC In-Person – Microsoft Experience Center in-person is a deployment engine which provides interactive, hands-on experience for partners interested in increasing value for Microsoft-powered businesses
- MEC Demo for Office 365 – Microsoft offers a selection of targeted demo videos which provide partners with effective promotional material for adoption of Office 365.
- Training opportunities through partnership with other system integrators such as Project Leadership Associates and Directions Training
